Camera: questions beyond the megapixel count

A list of megapixels does not establish portrait quality, low-light performance or video stability. If you photograph people indoors, inspect full-resolution indoor examples. For documents, check small text near the edges of the frame. For moving children or pets, look for motion blur in realistic lighting instead of relying on a static daylight sample.

Compare samples taken at equivalent focal lengths. A cropped image from one phone and a native telephoto image from another are not automatically a fair comparison. We do not claim superior photos or award this model a camera score without testing it.

Storage: match capacity to your files

Before choosing a configuration, check how much space your current photos, downloads and messaging apps use. Allow room for future recordings and app updates. Also decide where your backups will live. A larger internal capacity is convenient, but it does not replace a backup.

If you plan to keep work documents on the phone, try opening a representative spreadsheet, PDF and presentation in a store demo where possible. Check text readability and comfort in your own hand; a specification table cannot answer those questions for you.

What the battery numbers do and do not tell you

The typical and rated figures describe capacity using different specification conventions. They do not promise a fixed number of hours for your workload. Navigation, mobile signal, camera use, screen brightness and games affect consumption. Our earlier statement suggesting two days of normal use was not based on an in-house test and has been removed.

To compare battery claims fairly, look for tests using the same brightness, network and workload. A video-playback result should not be treated as a navigation or gaming result. If your workday relies on hotspot use and calls, choose a review that includes those tasks rather than relying on battery capacity alone.

Charging: check your charger as well as the phone

A maximum supported charging power is not a promise that every charger will deliver it, or that the phone will hold that power throughout a session. Ask which compatible adapter and cable are supplied with the version you are buying. Check the manufacturer’s charging notes before paying extra for accessories.

We have not measured a full-charge time, heat under charging or long-term battery degradation. Exact charging minutes and battery-life rankings would require a repeatable test with the equipment and conditions disclosed.

Your final buying checklist

1. Match the exact model and configuration on the invoice to the product you are shown.
2. Confirm local warranty coverage, repair support and the seller’s return conditions.
3. Verify operator compatibility and the features offered in your market.
4. Compare the final price after required accessories rather than comparing advertised headline prices alone.
5. Read independent testing for sustained gaming, temperature and camera behaviour if those decide your purchase.
